This morning, in my Physical Health and Fitness Education class, we were working on our own personal muscular fitness. I always enjoy doing cardiovascular/aerobic exercises, but this workout showed me that I need to be working more on my muscular fitness too. So...I figured I would just share some of the benefits that come along with accompanying an aerobic routine with muscular strength training.
Having strong muscles, doesn't just affect the way you look. Muscular fitness improves your body's ability to prevent chronic diseases. Your risk of getting injured is also a lot lower. Being muscularly fit also improves with day to day activities. It is to everyone's benefit to get out and work on getting stronger!
I really enjoyed our muscular fitness workout! I thought it was very eye opening on how many different exercises there are for each body part. You can do exercises with and without equipment, so you can do these activities anywhere. I'm also more into aerobic fitness, but this workout showed me how weak I am when it comes to strength... especially in my arms. I need to start doing muscular fitness everyday and not just aerobic, this way my body can be healthier overall.
